What to expect

On your first visit, to find out if we can help you, we ask questions about your current health situation to assess whether chiropractic care is for you. If we believe we can help we will conduct a thorough biomechanical, orthopaedic and neurological examination, explaining each process in detail. This visit usually takes around 45 minutes.

As we refer many patients for scans such as X-rays (very rarely for children), CT or MRI, or other tests, care usually starts on the second visit, which takes about 30 minutes. In a way that is easy to understand we’ll discuss your test results, our own our findings, what we can do to help, and how long it may take. We’ll also give you information to review at home.

Regular follow-up visits take about 10 minutes and involve repeating some of the tests to monitor your progress and provide feedback. The spinal adjustments are gentle with specific movements, performed differently depending on your age and type of spinal problem. Other techniques may include extremity adjusting, muscle techniques or advice.

Fees and rebates

Some or all of our fees are covered by:

  • Participating Health Funds – we are Preferred/First Choice providers for Medibank Private, AHM, HBA, MBF and BUPA, meaning higher rebates for you.
  • Medicare* – Woonona Chiropractic is also a provider for Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) where clients are referred by their GP for a program of chiropractic assessment and care. Our fee is bulk-billed via Medicare and there is no out-of-pocket expense or gap fee for EPC clients.
  • WorkCover
  • Australian Veteran’s Affairs (DVA)*
  • Motor Vehicle Accident (Third Party)*.

We have HICAPS for on-the-spot claims.
